- Halloween costumes don't need to be packed away
all year long! Dress up and act out fairytales you read together.
- Help your child make a secret hideout by putting
a blanket or sheet over a table or chair. Boxes can become furniture
and toys and books can help create a "home".
- In a safe place, play tug-of-war with an old blanket
or towel.
- Pretend to be different animals, making sounds
like that animal and moving around (crawling, jumping, running)
like that animal moves.
Nurture confidence and competence
in the
primary school years: ages 5 to 8
- Build anything from a castle to a miniature village
to a child-sized room using blocks videos or clean milk cartons
or old cereal boxes. Tell stories about who lives there and what
is happening there.
