How has your childhood play impacted your life as an adult?

One common theme we hear at Playing for Keeps is about the profound impact childhood play has had on adult career and lifestyle choices. If you are one of the people who loved to play school and now you are a teacher, or if you played endlessly with blocks--making buildings and houses and whole imaginary neighborhoods--and now you are an architect, we would love to hear your story. Tell us how constructive play has impacted your life.

- If you have memorable play experiences from your childhood you are willing to share--especially if those experiences directly shaped something about your life as an adult--send us an email with your story.

- Can you identify something important you learned during play that has become indispensable in your life?

- Can you remember new skills you learned from favorite toys, games, or activities?

- Did your play experiences have any impact on your career choices?

Work consists of whatever a body is obliged to do. Play consists of whatever a body is not obliged to do.
